Book Box Tutorial

Hello and welcome to another quick and easy tutorial.
Today I'm super excited to share a book box with you that I constructed.
I admit it, I like faffing. But I don't like overly complicated designs. You'd be surprised at how many cool and fun projects there are out there that are super easy to make.
The finished project
Materials
Watercolour Paper 200gsm
Distress Ink - Vintage Photo
Liquid Pearls
Scoreboard
Bone Folder
Foam Pads

Book cover
1 piece of Tonic Studios Brown Kraft Card, 280gsm- 9.5" x 5.25" score on the long side at 4.25" and 5.25"
Faux Book pages frame

4 pieces of card stock (I used 200 gsm watercolour paper) - cut two pieces 4" x 6" and cut the other two 5" x 6". Score on the long side 1", 2", 3", 4", 5" then flip over and score 0.5", 1.5", 2.5", 3.5", 4.5". 5.5" to get clean crisp folds.

Accordion fold all the score lines and ink up the edges you want more of a vintage look.
For the construction of your faux book pages, weave the folds together using wet glue to adhere the top and bottom of each corner (just the top and bottom).
To secure the book shut you can use velcro, magnets or add ribbon under your mat and layers if you're making this into a gift box. As my project was a diorama I decided it didn't need a secure closure.
Now add your mat and layers to your project and then attach the faux pages and continue to decorate. I ended up with 6 layers inside which looks really cool up close. If you look closely you will see that I have inserted a mini LED light which is super neat!

The finished Book  - cool isn't it?
For the construction I used Tonic Studios Brown Kraft Card 280gsm for the book cover and watercolour paper for the faux pages. For the decoration, it had to be

Have a fabulous day today
Happy crafting!

Win and Tonic Challenge June Inspiration (ATC's)

Hola!
Today I'm sharing four matching ATC's with you. This is my contribution as inspiration for the Win and Tonic Challenge for June. The winner is selected randomly and you may enter as many times as you like as long as it's a new card. The prizes are always fabulous so hope that you come along and join in.

All four ATC's are standard size - 3.5" x 2.5" and just managed to squeeze in all four themes into my project.

Materials:
Tangerine Die Cutting Machine
Craft Perfect Paper
Nuvo Aqua Flow Pend (blue, green, yellow, black)
Nuvo Drops- Apple Green
Tonic Oxford Box Set Die (for loop)
Tonic Bunting Set Die
Tonic Hello Die
Tonic You Die
Tonic Woodland Aster Flower Die
Mixed Media Paper, Newspaper
White acrylic fluid
Stencils, Blue wire, a button

If you don't want a shaped ATC just cut out the 3.5" x 2.5" and you're off. You can use any paper collection, print off images, draw your own, use stencils - anything goes with these little beauties, as long as they are the right size.

There are four elements to June's Challenge and you may use one, all or a mixture of the four.
This month the choices are:
Colour  - hot colours, reds, yellows, oranges, hot pinks, etc. You can use other colours as well, just as long as there is a hot colour included as well.
Technique - anything goes for the technique
Product – any flower dies or punches
Theme – a card for a girlie or lady

There is some fabulous inspiration on the Win & Tonic Page. I do hope you enter - the winner is selected randomly and you can enter as many times as you like as long as you use at least one of the themes and something Tonic on your project.
The prizes are always amazing and this month is no exception with the entire Oxford Box Set including the inserts!
I really enjoyed making these ATC's and could have carried on all day making more.
Lots of love and hugs

Grand Gala Bunting Card

Hi there. Today I'm sharing a fun card I designed with the new Tonic Studios Grand Gala Bunting Die Set. The top of this die stays inside the card stock so dead easy to line up and make a card blank without losing any stitched detail.

Tonic Materials
Tonic Grand Gala Bunting Die Set
Tangerine Die Cutting Machine
Nuvo Crystal Drops, Ebony Black
Nuvo Glitter Drops, Purple Rain
Nuvo Ink Pad, Black Shadow

After making the card blank, I die cut the largest banner a few more times to mat and layer on both the inside and outside of the card using coordinating papers. I then cut out 2 of the smallest bunting banners, as well as a individual pieces from the paper collection to start building my design.

Taking one of the medium bunting dies, I made it into a tiny card with a secret message inside and attached it with velcro. All the edges were distressed using the Nuvo Black Shadow Ink Pad. Nuvo Crystal & Glitter drops were then dotted around the card for the perfect finish.

There are so many things you can do with these bunting dies and they really should form part of your staple craft collection.
That's all from me today, see you soon!

A Welcome Card (and freebies)

Hello everyone
I'd love to share a 'welcome friend' card I made using the Craftwork Cards Botanical Garden USB. There are so many beautiful collections on this USB however 'More Than Words' is my favourite EVER CWC Collection. It's amazing and need to turn to my digital papers more often.

Craftwork Cards have a brand new Official Facebook Group where they host regular and exclusive prize competitions, tutorials, videos, craft clinics, inspiration, sneak peeks and much more. If you're a fan of CWC then come on over and join.
This card design is quite simple in style but would like to share a few of the finer details. The original image is oh so beautiful and amazing but wanted something a little bolder...
So I went in and used my Faber-Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolour Pencils to change the colour slightly and give it more vibracy.
Letters were then cut out from a couple of the sheets in the collection and mat and layered. Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze was applied on the letters and the friend sentiment. Clear Nuvo drops were added here and there and to finish some gold wire and a few sequins.
The butterfly was cut out 3 time and layered for a dimensional look and brushed with a glitter pen. I twisted some wire and added it for the antennae. The wire came in a pack of 9 coloured spools  for £2 from Tiger!
And there you have it  - a lovely and detailed card. The image really is beautiful and I absolutely adore it.
And there you have it, a lovely welcome card with digital papers.

So, the Facebook Group is here -  Craftwork Cards Official Group
There is a GIVEAWAY running on the group at the moment for a BRILLIANT prize so come join us.
Craftwork Cards are also giving away their Loves London paper kit as a free download due to recent events.
